Job summary

Kelso Building Services in Ogden, UT is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician/Chiller Technician to diagnose, repair, and optimize a wide range of commercial and industrial systems. You will handle diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and system optimization with a safety-first mindset.

The role requires EPA 608, 5+ years of HVAC experience, and strong electrical skills. A valid driver’s license is needed; familiarity with BAS/DDC controls is a plus.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Certification.
• 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience.
• Experience with BAS/DDC controls platforms a plus.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting capability across both low and high voltage systems.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair all types of commercial HVAC equipment.
• Commission and start up chiller and controls systems, optimizing for peak efficiency.
• Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, and supporting equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
• Keep accurate, timely documentation of all service work, repairs, and recommendations.
• Communicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and next steps.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, EPA standards, and internal company policies.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians when applicable.

In this role, you'll handle complex diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and system optimization across commercial and industrial facilities. • Prior experience in hospitals, industrial plants, or large-scale commercial buildings.
