Job summary

Star Service, a Fidelity Building Services Group company, is the leading HVAC service provider in the Gulf Coast region and seeks an all-star Chiller Technician for the Houston team. You will maintain, diagnose, and service air-cooled and water-cooled chillers for commercial facilities, with on-site field work across rooftops and mechanical rooms.

Requirements include 5+ years of chiller experience, EPA 608 certification, clean driving record, and willingness to work overtime or emergencies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience servicing and troubleshooting commercial chillers.
• Strong knowledge of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
• Experience with Carrier, Trane, York, Daikin, and similar equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration circuits, compressors, TXVs/EXVs, controls, sensors, VFDs, and electrical systems.
• Ability to perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, leak detection, and system startup.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control sequences.
• EPA 608 certification is required.

We are committed to providing excellent service, maintenance, and design-build replacements of air conditioning systems in commercial and industrial facilities.

We are looking for an all-star Chiller Technician to join our Star Service of Houston team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on air-cooled and water-cooled chiller systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant system issues
• Conduct start-ups, shutdowns, and performance testing
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding system status and repair recommendations
• Participate in on-call rotation as required

• Ability to work independently and communicate professionally with customers
• Ability to work outdoors, on rooftops, and in mechanical rooms
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or emergency service when needed
• Must have a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship
