Job summary

Aggreko plc in Santa Fe Springs, CA is seeking a Chiller Technician Temp Control to support preventive maintenance and repair of large HVAC and oil-free air equipment at the service center.

You will troubleshoot equipment failures, work independently or with a team, and travel to job sites as needed. The role offers full-time hours, potential overtime, a strong training program, and an annual bonus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 4+ years of experience working on chillers for commercial customers.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, test and repair chiller and large-tonnage AC equipment.
• May be required to obtain TWIC or valid DOT medical card; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Based at Santa Fe Springs, CA service center and perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and in the field as needed.
• Work independently or with other technicians to set up and operate equipment.
• Ensure safety and proper handling of heavy equipment up to 60 lbs and more as required.

What you’ll do:

• You’ll be based out of our Santa Fe Springs, CA service center.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop.
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with other technician(s) to set up and operate equipment in the shop.

You are:

• High School diploma/GED
• 4 or more years of experience working on chillers for our commercial customers performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, test and repair chiller and large-tonnage air conditioning equipment.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

Other essential job requirements

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
