Job summary

Centralmechanical is seeking a skilled HVAC technician with journeyman experience to maintain and repair central plant equipment, including large chillers, cooling towers, and related systems.

Excellent knowledge of chiller, HVAC, and central plants is required, along with EPA certification and a valid driver’s license. On-call emergency service and strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with customers and teams.

Qualifications

• 5 years of work experience at the journeyman level and technical schooling.
• Commercial/industrial air conditioning experience required.
• Knowledge of chiller, HVAC, and central plants.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair central plant equipment, including chillers 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, vane axial fans, and other auxiliary equipment.
• Overhaul of centrifugal chillers is a plus.
• Support the office with recommended repairs from delivery to completion.
• Availability for emergency service calls on-call through normal rotation.
• End-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning.
• Schedule and manage site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
• Perform daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all associated equipment.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
