Job summary

YMCA in Hoover, AL is seeking a part-time Childwatch Attendant to create a safe, fun, and welcoming space for children while parents pursue wellness activities. You will supervise children, lead age-appropriate activities, and ensure safety and cleanliness in the Childwatch/YKIDS area.

Responsibilities

Shift Information: Must be available to work at least one Saturday a month.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supervise and engage children in a safe, caring, and welcoming environment.
• Lead games, activities, crafts, and age-appropriate experiences that keep children active and having fun.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of every child through active supervision at all times.
• Assist with diaper changes, toileting, and infant feedings as needed.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe Childwatch/YKIDS area.
• Follow YMCA policies, childcare standards, and abuse risk management procedures.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.

• Assist with children of all ages, including infants when needed.
