Job summary

Glacial Community YMCA in Wisconsin is seeking a caring and energetic Children’s Program Instructor to provide a fun, safe, and engaging environment for preschoolers. You will plan and lead gym and classroom enrichment activities that foster curiosity, creativity, physical activity, and social development.

You will maintain an organized learning space and use positive classroom management while collaborating with staff to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience for children and families.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for infants and preschoolers is preferred.
• Experience in children’s programming/education is preferred.
• CPR, AED, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Communication certifications must be obtained within 90 days.
• Willingness to attend meetings and obtain additional certifications.

The YMCA is looking for a caring, energetic and creative Children's Program Instructor to provide a fun, safe, and engaging environment for preschool-aged children. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, enjoys working collaboratively with others, and believes that children learn best through play, exploration, and positive relationships.

As a Children's Program Instructor, you will plan and lead a variety of gym and classroom-based enrichment programs that encourage learning, creativity, physical activity, and social development. You'll help maintain a well-organized learning space, use positive classroom management techniques to foster a welcoming and respectful environment, and work closely with fellow staff to create a consistent, high-quality experience for every child and family.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience providing care for infants and pre-school aged children, preferred.
• Experience in children’s programming/education, preferred.
• Certifications that must be obtained and maintained within first 90 days: CPR, AED , First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Blood borne Pathogens, Hazard Communication.
• Willingness to attend meetings, training, and obtain additional certification as requested.

Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading classes, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. Individuals in this position may be subject to all elements of weather and loud facilities.
