Schedule and Role Details
- Looking for a coach with athletic or coaching experience, ideally with experience coaching children ages 12 months to 11 years.
- Focus on coaching children on brain, physical, and character development using the evolving monthly curriculum.
- Comfortable speaking with parents/guardians about the "why" behind the KidStrong curriculum.
- Classes run weekdays 9:00 am‑11:00 am and afternoons 2:30–7:30 pm; weekends 8:00 am‑2:00 pm.
- Additional hours with birthday parties and camps.
- Opportunity for a flexible work schedule depending on studio needs.
Responsibilities
- Coach classes of 6‑15 children, ages 12 months‑11 years.
- Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team.
- Ensure classes start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pacing of curriculum.
- Greet students and parents/guardians individually before class begins.
- Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor.
- Demonstrate and manage exercises to ensure proper technique and student safety.
- Keep the center clean, including lobby, bathrooms, and floors.
- Use the KS Coach App to record class data and provide records to parents (attendance, awards, etc.).
- Communicate professionally with co‑workers via Slack and other company messaging systems.
- Work in a physically intensive environment—covering multiple miles per shift and lifting equipment up to 25 lb.
- Assist parents of students aged three and younger with class flow and direction.
- Attend monthly center staff programming meetings for training on next month’s curriculum.
- Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by the KidStrong Director.
- Learn and manage Coach KidStrong Camp—special classes during school breaks.
- Obtain certified status from the HQ Training and Certification team.
Qualifications
- Passion for working with children is non‑negotiable.
- Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age range is preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and body mechanics.
- CPR certification.
- Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
