Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a part-time RN for evening shifts in a remote capacity to assess and recommend pediatric care using approved protocols. You will interact with providers, document calls, and relay information about hospital services.

The role requires a BSN, active Ohio RN license, and BLS certification, with at least three years of pediatric experience and familiarity with EPIC EMR. Office software experience is expected, and 24 hours per week are remote.

Qualifications

• BSN required or obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Current BLS certification required; other certifications may be required by department.
• Active Ohio RN license (MSL) required; MSL within 90 days for telenursing outside Ohio.
• Minimum of three years pediatric experience; pediatric critical care preferred.
• No required supervisory experience.

• Experience working with an electronic medical record (i.e. EPIC) software or similar EMR software is preferred.

Education And Experience

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing [BSN] is required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association is required. Additional certifications may be required based on the assigned department or unit.
• A valid, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio is required. This must be a Multistate License (MSL). An MSL is required within 90 days of hire date for departments that provide telenursing services or care to patients outside Ohio.
• Years of relevant experience: Minimum of three (3) years of applicable pediatric experience is required. Experience in pediatric critical care is preferred.
