Job summary

Balance Autism is seeking a Children's Autism Associate to support individuals with autism in home or community settings using data-driven therapy. You will help implement personalized programs, promote safety, and assist with daily living and social skills development.

The role includes 2–3 hour shifts with a flexible schedule in the Fort Madison area, and potential for additional hours in summer months. Requires 18+, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • 18 years or older.
  • Highschool diploma or GED.
  • Driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Pre-employment motor vehicle report and criminal background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Safety: Ensures health/safety needs of the person served are met by communicating concerns or issues related to cleanliness, health and safety, and other needs to the individual and other appropriate staff.
  • Program Implementation/Documentation: Participates in the implementation and monitoring of all personalized programs, autism specific strategies, and innovative solutions in order to generate successful outcomes.
  • Engagement: Demonstrates appropriate duration of engagement with the individual by conducting natural environment training and direct instruction during the observation.
  • Interaction: Engages the individual in social interactions with peers and adults during activities that are appropriate for the repertoire of the individual served.

Description

As aChildren's Autism Associateat Balance Autism, you are responsible for supporting people with autism learn new skills and achieve greater independence through data-driven therapy in their homes or out in the community. Skills may be related to hygiene, personal care, building social relationships and networks, communication, vocational, and community involvement as needed.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safety:Ensures health/safety needs of the person served are met by communicating concerns or issues related to cleanliness, health and safety, and other needs to the individual and other appropriate staff.
  • Program Implementation/Documentation:Participates in the implementation and monitoring of all personalized programs, autism specific strategies, and innovative solutions in order to generate successful outcomes.

Autism Associate will be working 2-3 hour shifts at a time with a flexible schedule with the possibility of additional hours in the summer months. This position serves clients in the Fort Madison area.

  • Monday - Friday: 3:00pm-8:00pm(2-3 hour shifts at a time)
  • Saturday and Sunday: 8:00am-8:00pm (2-3 hour shifts at a time)
