Job summary

Anchor Church is seeking a passionate and dependable Children's Director to lead and grow our children's ministry from the nursery through 5th grade. You will oversee spiritual care, safety, and discipleship, and build a warm, faith-filled environment where kids look forward to coming each week.

You will recruit volunteers, plan gospel-centered curriculum, coordinate events, and partner with families and the pastoral team to shape young hearts for Jesus.

Qualifications

• A personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with Anchor Church beliefs.
• Experience working with children in ministry, education, or childcare.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Genuine love for kids and a heart for families.
• Dependability, warmth, and a team-first attitude.
• Availability on Sunday mornings plus some weekday hours.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Sunday morning children's ministry for ages 6 months–5th grade.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate, gospel-centered curriculum and activities.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage a team of children's ministry volunteers.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, including secure check-in/check-out and safety procedures.
• Partner with parents to support faith development at home.
• Coordinate special events such as VBS, holiday programs, and family gatherings.
• Communicate regularly and warmly with families and the pastoral team.
• Steward classroom supplies, space, and ministry resources well.

The Role
