Job summary

Anchor Church is seeking a passionate and dependable Children’s Director to lead the ministry from nursery through 5th grade. The role focuses on spiritual care, safety, and discipleship, guiding our Sunday programming and volunteers in a faith-filled environment where kids look forward to coming each week.

You will develop and implement gospel-centered curricula, recruit and train volunteers, and partner with families to support faith development at home, including coordinating events like VBS

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in ministry, education, or childcare.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Availability on Sunday mornings and some weekday hours; ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Sunday morning children's ministry for ages 6 months–5th grade.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate gospel-centered curriculum and activities.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage a team of children's ministry volunteers.
• Ensure a safe, clean, welcoming environment with secure check-in/check-out and safety procedures.
• Partner with parents to support faith development at home.
• Coordinate special events such as VBS, holiday programs, and family gatherings.
• Communicate regularly and warmly with families and the pastoral team.
• Steward classroom supplies, space, and ministry resources well.

We're looking for a passionate and dependable Children's Director to lead and grow our children's ministry from the nursery through 5th grade.

The Role

The Children's Director oversees the spiritual care, safety, and discipleship of children from 6 months old through 5th grade. You'll lead our Sunday morning programming, develop a team of volunteers, and create a fun, safe, and faith‑filled environment where kids look forward to coming each week.

What You'll Do

• Lead and oversee Sunday morning children's ministry for ages 6 months–5th grade
• Plan and implement age‑appropriate, gospel‑centered curriculum and activities
• Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage a team of children's ministry volunteers
• Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, including secure check‑in/check‑out and safety procedures
• Partner with parents to support faith development at home
