Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a Habilitation Counselor to work with children and youth aged 8-21 with various diagnoses. The role involves implementing behavior management strategies, supervising daily activities, and ensuring safety, all within a supportive environment that promotes growth and development.

At Devereux, as a Habilitation Counselor, you will have the opportunity to work with children ages 8-21 with IDD/BH/MH diagnoses and impact their lives by unlocking their full potential daily.
From a behavioral perspective, the youth in this program often have skill deficits in impulse control, emotion regulation, and developmental skills, often due to trauma. This trauma can compromise resilience, leading to feelings of emptiness, fear, abandonment, impulsivity, emotion dysregulation, and self-destructive behaviors, affecting their academic, familial, social, vocational, and placement stability.

You will be offered:
Available Shift: 7am - 3pm | 2pm - 10pm
Schedule: One scheduled day off during the week, every other weekend.
Compensation: $20.25 - $23.05/hr (based on experience and education)
Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) serves children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric challenges. Located in West Chester and Malvern, PA, services include psychiatric residential treatment, residential treatment, inpatient psychiatric hospital, assessment services, community mental health services, employment and social skills training, and private school educational services for children and adolescents (6-21 years) with various diagnoses, often with trauma histories.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or related field required.
Experience: Previous experience preferred but not required. Experience working with individuals with psychological, emotional, behavioral disorders, trauma, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, or autism spectrum disorders is a plus. Must manage multiple tasks, have proficient communication and computer skills (Outlook, SharePoint, EHR, Microsoft Office), and maintain a valid driver’s license.
