Position details:

• Part-time: 7:00am-10:00am or 2:00pm-6:00pm
• Full Year (12 months)
• Location: Gibsonia, PA
• $500 Signing Bonus after 90 days
• Starting pay: $16.00/hour

Position Overview

The Assistant Teacher supports teachers and group supervisors by creating a caring, safe environment and assisting with activities to enhance care and education quality. Responsibilities include implementing developmentally appropriate activities, communicating with parents, and maintaining classroom materials. Reports to the Program Site Director/Group Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in curriculum implementation and encourage children’s participation.
• Engage in activities indoors and outdoors; manage classroom cleanliness and materials.
• Communicate with parents regularly.
• Ensure children's safety, build relationships, and guide behavior.
• Promote self-help and hygiene practices.
• Follow organizational policies and state regulations.
• Maintain professional development.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 2 years (2,500 hours) experience in childcare or related volunteer work.
• High energy and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of child development.
• Ability to interact physically with children and supervise effectively.
• Flexible with classroom types and hours.
• CPR and First Aid certified.
• Pass background, drug, and health screenings.

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma and 2,500 hours experience with children.
• Willingness to pursue CDA, SAC, or equivalent coursework.
