Job summary

Old Colony YMCA is hiring a Childcare Teacher for the Easton Branch in Massachusetts. The role focuses on safe, engaging learning environments for children, with plans for activities reflecting each child’s interests and needs.

The position is full-time (35–40 hours weekly) with shifts roughly 6:45 AM–5:30 PM, offering benefits and opportunities to grow professionally. Applicants should be at least 21 or have a HS diploma, plus EEC certification and CPR/First Aid readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 or equivalent education per EEC requirements.
• EEC Teacher Certification.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (willing to train).
• Evidence of physical examination within the last 12 months.
• Passion for working with children.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, creativity, movement, and exploration.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where every child can thrive.
• Develop lesson plans reflecting each child’s interests, abilities, talents, culture, and learning style.
• Lead daily classroom activities and help create an engaging, organized learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with children and serve as a caring, dependable role model.
• Follow EEC regulations, NAEYC standards, and Old Colony YMCA policies and procedures.
• Make each day at the Y fun, meaningful, and memorable.
