Job summary

Hampshire Regional YMCA in Northampton is seeking creative, responsible childcare staff for our Child Watch program. You will help supervise children aged 6 weeks to 9 years and support safe, engaging activities.

Weekday mornings or evenings are required; this role offers a flexible part-time schedule, training, and the chance to contribute to a warm community program with member-service focus and a sense of purpose in the Y.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare preferred.
• Ability to create engaging activities.
• Ability to supervise children and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day functions of the Child Watch program.
• Maintain a safe, age-appropriate space for children aged 6 weeks to 9 years.
• Contribute to development and implementation of curriculum and activities.
• Sign children in and out using the electronic check-in system.
• Provide excellent member service and communicate with parents/guardians.

This program allows families to leave their children safely in our care for up to 90 minutes while they use our facility.Job DutiesAssist with day-to-day functions of Child Watch program for children aged 6 weeks – 9 yearsMaintain a safe and age-appropriate space for children in your care, adapting as needed to the kids who are presentContribute to development & implementation of curriculum & activitiesSign children in & out of program using electronic check in systemProvide excellent member service and communicate with parents/guardiansWeekday mornings (8:30am-12pm) and/or weekday evening (4-7pm) availability requiredEducation and/or experience in childcare preferredInterest in wide array of creative & physical activitiesBenefits include a free membership to the Y and the opportunity to participate in a 403(b).
