Job summary

Berean Baptist Church is seeking a part‑time, seasonal childcare provider to support Kids Programming during fall to spring sessions. The role supports Tuesday Mom to Mom and Women’s Ministry Bible Study, Sunday Evenings for Adult Ministry Classes, and Wednesday Evenings during Berean Kids.

Responsibilities include supervising children, guiding health routines, reading and playing, organizing activities, serving snacks, and maintaining a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor children's play activities.
• Guide children in health and personal habits such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
• Read and play with children.
• Organize and participate in recreational activities, such as games, songs and crafts.
• Assist in preparing and serving snacks for children.
• Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas.
• Clean toys and reset room after childcare session.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Ensure that check‑in and pick‑up procedures are followed.
• Change diapers and assist in bathroom use (female providers only).
• Report concerns regarding a child’s well‑being immediately to Berean Kids Director, Executive Pastor, or Berean Kids staff.

The Berean Childcare Provider is a part‑time, seasonal (September‑May) employee of Berean Baptist Church, hired to provide Kids Programming during any or all of the following programs: Tuesday morning Mom to Mom and Women’s Ministry Bible Study, Sunday Evenings for Adult Ministry Classes, and Wednesday Evenings during Berean Kids. This position reports directly to the Berean Kids Plus Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor children's play activities
• Guide children in health and personal habits such as eating, resting, and toilet habits
• Read and play with children
• Organize and participate in recreational activities, such as games, songs and crafts
• Assist in preparing and serving snacks for children
• Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas.
• Clean toys that have been played with; straighten and reset room after childcare session.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment
• Ensure that check‑in and pick‑up procedures are followed
• Change diapers and assist in bathroom use (female providers only)
• Report any concerns regarding a child’s well‑being immediately to the Berean Kids Director, Executive Pastor, or a Berean Kids staff member

Other Qualifications

• Must be able to kneel, squat, bend, and sit on the floor for extended periods.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
• Ability to lift and carry children up to 35lbs., and occasionally up to 50lbs. with assistance.
• Must be able to reach, stretch, and move quickly in response to emergencies or safety needs.
• Must have fine motor skills for handling toys, crafts, and documentation
• Ability to clean, sanitize, and organize toys and activity materials
