Berean Baptist Church is seeking a Berean Kids Coordinator to support Friday through Sunday ministries for children birth to age five and early elementary. The role involves leading volunteers, coordinating Sunday services, and managing Wednesday programming to partner with families in faith formation.

This temporary position (December – March) reports to the Berean Kids Director and requires a heart for kids, teamwork, and reliable event support with a flexible schedule.

Responsabilidades

• Sunday morning coverage: serve as a floor lead, oversee rooms, support volunteers, assist with child pickups, coordinate service transitions, set up and close rooms, manage volunteer callouts.
• Weekday and administrative coverage: update rosters, onboard new volunteers, enroll them in Groundwork, set up Wednesday programming, run the volunteer huddle, coordinate support, manage substitutions, and track attendance.

Berean Baptist Church is on mission to see our lives, our community, and our world transformed by the power of the gospel. Berean Kids is responsible for overseeing the education and faith development of children from birth to grade five by creatively and effectively implementing the church’s vision for children and families. The Berean Kids Coordinator will offer support on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings and will build and lead a team of volunteers as they seek to partner with parents in the faith development of kids from birth to grade three. This is a temporary (December – March) position that reports to the Berean Kids Director.

Job Responsibilities

Sunday morning coverage

• Serve as a floor lead during one of the services: Preschool and/or elementary areas to help oversee rooms and support volunteers.
• Cover service-time coordination: Being available when a room needs extra help and keeping an eye on child pick-ups.
• Support the transition between services: Checking that children have been picked up and helping staff coordinate the changeover.
• Set up before services: Preparing rooms and checking that technology is working.
• Close down afterwards: Tidy and reset rooms, clear bins, turn off lights, and close doors.
• Help manage Sunday volunteer callouts & find substitute

Weekday and administrative coverage

• Update children’s ministry rosters as children move to new classrooms or new children join.
  • Print and prepare rosters for classroom clipboards and bins.
• Onboard new volunteers: send applications, follow up on references, enroll them in Groundwork training, and help place them based on volunteer needs.
• Set up Wednesday-night programming, including rooms, technology, the mobile check-in cart, name tags, and supplies for the volunteer huddle
• Coordinate Wednesday-night support during programming: run the huddle, check that volunteers are in the right places, and help rooms that need an extra hand.
• Close and reset Wednesday-night rooms, check supplies and leader binders, and look for attendance-related follow-up cards for children who have missed two weeks.
• Manage Wednesday-night volunteer callouts and substitutions.

Work Conditions

• Working in office for periods of time
• Involves some light lifting up to 20 pounds and managing supplies for storage
• Working BK or Next Gen Ministry events that are outside of regular work hours, which can be in the evenings or on weekends
