Job summary

YMCA of the Wichita Kansas is seeking a Nutrition Program Coordinator to oversee food service for children from birth to six years, ensuring CACFP guidelines and nutritional standards are met. The role requires collaboration with staff and vendors, and support for classroom activities within the branch.

The position emphasizes safety, inventory control, and adherence to KDHE/CACFP procedures while promoting YMCA core values in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 3 months experience in food service.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide food service that meets the nutritional needs of children birth to six.
• Meet and/or exceed CACFP nutritional guidelines.
• Develop monthly menus to post, distribute and keep on file.
• Ensure timely and appropriate meal service to classrooms.
• Maintain allergy list and communicate with staff as necessary.
• Calculate and maintain meal records.
• Maintain inventory of all food and service items, rotate stock and order additional items.
• Work with classroom teachers to implement food experiences in the classroom.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment at all times.
• Practice proper food storage per KDHE and CACFP requirements.
• Assist in administration of medication as directed by Program Director.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
• Display YMCA Core Values and support community initiatives.
• All other duties as assigned by Program Director.
