Job summary

KinderCare is hiring a cook to prepare healthy meals and snacks for children across our centers. Following menus created by our in-house nutritionist, you will help fuel learning and growth while maintaining safe, hygienic kitchen practices.

As a team member, you’ll manage supply orders, document activities, support enrollment and engagement goals with center staff, and work under licensing regulations. The role rewards dedication with meaningful daily impact and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
• Familiarity with accurate conditions and food storage, understanding needs of children with allergies.
• Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare quantities for center population.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portions.
• Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain.
• One year of institutional cooking experience; food ordering experience desired.
• Two or more years working with children (desirable).
• Read, write, understand and speak English to communicate with children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies.
• Dispense and store medication, as requested.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation per KinderCare and licensing requirements.
• Assist with daily center duties as needed.
• Support center success by partnering with staff and leadership to reach enrollment, accreditation, and engagement goals.
