Davis Street is seeking a Cook for the Child Care Development Center to manage daily kitchen operations in a CACFP-compliant program. You will plan meals, supervise safe food handling, and ensure proper documentation and inventory control.

The role requires high school completion and at least one year of kitchen experience, with CPR/First Aid and ServSafe certifications preferred. Excellent sanitation practices are essential for a healthy childcare environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate.
• Minimum of 1 year of kitchen management or cooking experience.
• Ability to pass ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• CPR and First Aid training preferred.
• Live Scan fingerprint clearance and pass required agency checks.
• Must provide TB test and physician's note.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children daily, per CACFP guidelines.
• Maintain sanitation, health, safety, and nutrition standards per CACFP.
• Complete CACFP documentation including menu records and daily meal counts.
• Distribute food to classrooms and ensure meals are served timely.
• Practice safe food handling in preparation, serving, and storage.
• Plan menus and submit supply orders for review by Site Supervisor.
• Maintain inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment.
• Keep kitchen and related areas clean and sanitary.
