Job summary

The Learning Experience is hiring a Chef/Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in our early childhood education center. You will manage daily kitchen operations, sanitation, inventory, and meal service while adhering to nutrition, food safety, and childcare requirements.

Responsibilities include preparing meals per menus, monitoring portions, maintaining records, and communicating with center staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 18+ years old.
• Experience in childcare or education settings preferred.
• Knowledge of nutrition guidelines and meal planning helpful.
• Ability to follow menus, recipes, portions, and safety rules.
• Must meet licensing, background screening, health, and training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and organization.
• Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Follow approved menus and nutrition guidelines.
• Ensure accurate meal service and portion control.
• Coordinate with teachers and staff for meal timing.
