Job summary

YMCA of Greater Dayton in Xenia, OH, is seeking a Childcare Director for School Age & Day Camp. This full-time exempt role oversees program design, staff supervision, enrollment targets, and regulatory compliance. A strong background in early childhood education and leadership is required, with a CDA within 1 year if needed.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required; plan for 4-year degree; 4-year degree strongly preferred.
• If degree not in ECE, 12 education-related college credits required.
• Must obtain CDA within 1 year if not in ECE.
• 2 years experience in child care or education field.
• 2 years experience in child care program area systems, procedures, and guidelines.
• One year minimum supervisory experience preferred.
• Budget development and administration skills preferred.
• Must hold valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and email; able to learn YMCA software.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs, evaluates, and implements all aspects of the child care programs per YMCA guidelines.
• Ensure enrollment targets and compliance with ODJFS and other regulations.
• Supervise staff, conduct trainings, and manage staffing needs.
• Administer CACFP paperwork and maintain records.
• Build relationships with members and community partners; recruit volunteers.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and licensing compliance; respond to inspections.

Education

2-year college degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

4-year college degree preferred

12 college credit hours in education field (if degree not in ECE)
