Job summary

YMCA of Greater Dayton in Xenia, OH is seeking a Sports Director to develop and manage high-quality youth and adult sports programs. This full-time exempt role involves supervising staff, forecasting budgets, and expanding programming in the local community.

The position requires supervisory experience, a 2-year degree or equivalent, CPR/First Aid, and a valid driver's license. Strong MS Office skills and familiarity with YMCA software are expected.

Qualifications

• A 2-year college degree or applicable experience is required; Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent strongly preferred.
• CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen required within first 60 days of employment and kept current.
• Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience demonstrated coordinating staff and volunteers.
• Experience in youth and adult sports program systems, procedures, and guidelines.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation for travel.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office and ability to learn YMCA software.

Responsibilities

• Directs, supervises and monitors youth and adult sports operations and program activities.
• Develops and manages program budgets to meet fiscal objectives.
• Creates new activities and expands programming within the community.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and motivates staff and volunteers.
• Develops relationships with community organizations and engages volunteers.
• Maintains accurate program records including registrations and attendance.
• Ensures safety, branding guidelines, and marketing materials are compliant.
