Job summary

The Sunshine House in Concord/Charlotte invites applicants for a Childcare Director in Training. You will help shape operations, ensure licensing compliance, and deliver engaging tours to families while supporting high-quality early education.

Required: associate's degree in ECE or related field, Level 2 Admin credential, and prior management experience in licensed childcare. Travel to area locations expected; Bachelor's in ECE preferred. Competitive compensation and growth opportunities.

• Level 2 Admin credential required.
• Prior management experience as a director or assistant director in a licensed childcare setting is required.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel to area locations.
• At least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of childcare schools in alignment with state licensing and company policies.
• Manage daily operations ensuring licensing requirements and company policies are met.
• Perform administrative duties, conduct family tours, maintain records, ensure licensing compliance, and keep operations running smoothly.
• Partner with families to provide high-quality care and education for children.
• Support teachers in implementing our curriculum and creating developmentally appropriate classrooms.
• Foster positive relationships with families, teachers, licensing representatives, and the community.
• Step into classrooms as needed to assist staff.

Compensation & Pay Range: Salary range: $49K-$52K

Candidates with advanced education and experience in early childhood education may qualify for higher pay within the range. Regular increases are considered with additional education, stellar performance, and years of service.

Requirements

Childcare Director in Training Responsibilities

• Working in conjunction with a training director, help oversee the daily operations of childcare school in accordance with state licensing and company policies, including administrative, operational, financial, and logistical functions of the facility.
• Help manage the daily operations of childcare school, ensuring we meet state licensing requirements and company policies.
• Perform administrative duties, give impactful tours to families, maintain records, ensure state licensing/policy compliance, and help keep everything running smoothly.
• Partner with families to provide the best care and education for their children.
• Support teachers in implementing our curriculum, enabling developmentally appropriate classrooms that spark curiosity and growth.
• Nurture positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing representatives, and the community.
• Work in the classroom when needed to assist and support staff.
• Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, and others.
