Job summary

Advance Prep Academy is seeking a part-time cook to prepare healthy meals and snacks for children at our Stone Mountain centers. You will maintain the kitchen, follow safety and allergy protocols, and assist with other daily center duties as needed.

The ideal candidate is at least 18, holds ServSafe or Food Handlers certification, has 1 year of licensed childcare cooking experience, and can pass a background check. CPR/First Aid training is required; shifts are 6:30am–1:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• ServSafe or Food Handlers certification.
• At least 1 year of licensed childcare center cooking experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Background check clearance.
• Shift: part-time 6:30am–1:30pm, Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Assist with and take on responsibility in other daily center duties, as needed.
• Understand needs of children with food allergies and implement cross-contamination avoidance.
• Measure and portion meals accurately.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a cook who will prepare healthy and tasty meals and snacks for the children in our centers! Your work will ensure our children have the fuel they need to learn and grow!

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Help with and take on responsibility in other daily center duties, as needed.
• Practice familiarity with proper conditions and food storage, the ability to understand the needs of children with food allergies, and to implement methods of food cross-contamination avoidance.
• Basic math skills required for measuring and calculating serving portions.

What You’ll Need:

• Age: Be a minimum of 18 years old.
• Certification: ServSafe Certification and/or Food Handlers Certification.
• Experience: 1 year experience in a licensed childcare setting as a cook.
• Training Requirements:
  • Possess CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Pass a Background Check.
• Shift : Ability to work part time from 6:30am-1:30pm, Monday-Friday.
