Job summary

Play Datez Child Development Center in Hinesville, GA is seeking a devoted Daycare Cook to provide nutritious meals for young children. You will plan menus, prepare daily meals and snacks, and ensure safe food handling in a busy kitchen environment.

Ideal candidates have prior food service or childcare kitchen experience, familiarity with CACFP guidelines, and the ability to pass a background check. ServSafe or Food Handler certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special nutritional needs of children
• Ensure proper food storage and handling procedures are followed
• Coordinate meal timing with classroom schedules to ensure timely service

About the Role:

Play Datez Child Development Center in Hinesville, GA is looking for a passionate and nurturing Daycare Cook to join our team! In this role, you'll play a vital part in the health and happiness of the children in our care by preparing delicious, nutritious meals every day. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks for children daily
• Plan and follow weekly menus in accordance with USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times
• Monitor and manage food inventory, supplies, and ordering needs
• Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special nutritional needs of children
• Ensure proper food storage and handling procedures are followed
• Coordinate meal timing with classroom schedules to ensure timely service

Requirements:

• Previous experience in food service, institutional cooking, or childcare food preparation preferred
• Knowledge of USDA CACFP meal pattern requirements is a plus
• Valid Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to accommodate food allergies and follow safe food handling protocols
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Warm, caring demeanor with a genuine passion for child well-being
• Ability to pass a background check as required for childcare environments
