Job summary

Play and Learn Child Development Center in Thomaston is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers for preschool-age children. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to pass all background checks.

Shift is Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm with compensation of $16.94–$18.00 per hour, based on education and experience. We offer competitive pay, paid trainings, generous benefits, a 401k with match, childcare discounts, and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the center's philosophy and goals.

• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and make improvements for program quality.
• Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for all children.
• Establish a professional rapport with each family to provide quality care.
• Demonstrate the physical ability to work around young children (sitting, standing, walking, running, stairs).
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs and meet all physical requirements of the role.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED and the ability to pass all background checks and have previous childcare experience.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
