Job summary

Sunrise Preschools in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Assistant Teacher to help create a classroom filled with discovery, learning, and joy. You will support the Lead Teacher with age-appropriate activities, stories, and daily routines while ensuring a warm, safe environment for children.

You will build strong relationships with families, observe children's progress, assist with attendance and daily reports, and contribute to a team devoted to nurturing curiosity, kindness, and growth.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Job description

As an Assistant Teacher at Sunrise Preschools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements

Pay and benefits

Pay: $15.20-$16 per hour, based on experience and education.

Requirements

A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education and prior experience in a licensed childcare center are a plus, but not required . We hire for character and train for skill.
