Job summary

Huntey's Clubhouse in Michigan is seeking a part-time Childcare Assistant to support after-school programs in a warm, nurturing environment.

You will assist the Lead Teacher with activities, monitor progress, maintain safety, and communicate with families. Schedule is 3:30PM-6:30PM, Monday to Friday, with no nights or weekends, offering a supportive, family-focused workplace.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Previous experience with children in an early childhood setting is a plus.
  • Must communicate effectively in English with children, families, coworkers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to engage in physical activity with children and lift up to 30-40 pounds.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Positive, patient, and flexible demeanor with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing the classroom curriculum, adapting to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore, play, and learn.
  • Support children's development through structured activities, play, and positive behavior guidance.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to maintain classroom routines, organization, and effective communication with parents/guardians.
  • Monitor and report childrens' progress and any areas of concern to the Lead Teacher.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and classroom effectiveness.
  • Follow health and safety protocols, ensuring a clean and secure environment.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
  • Uphold company standards and comply with state licensing requirements.

Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English sufficiently to complete required documentation, understand policies and procedures, and ensure the health and safety of children.

Work Schedule:
  • 3:30PM-6:30PM, Monday to Friday.
