Responsibilities

The YMCA utilizes a Membership By Design framework to engage members. Staff and volunteers are involved in:

  1. Encouraging enrollment in programs.
  2. Gathering and responding to satisfaction feedback.
  3. Building relationships with members.
  4. Sharing knowledge about YMCA programs and policies.
  5. Creating volunteer opportunities.
  6. Encouraging members to 'own' the YMCA community.
Position Summary

The Early Learning Assistant Teacher supports classroom activities for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers. On-site, face-to-face leadership is required. Center hours are flexible, generally between 6 AM and 6 PM.

Essential Functions
  • Assist in developing and leading daily lesson plans.
  • Engage actively with children.
  • Communicate with parents.
  • Prepare materials for activities.
  • Maintain attendance records.
  • Supervise children.
  • Assist with parent-teacher conferences.
  • Communicate effectively with the team.

Performs other duties necessary for the operation of YMCA.

Compensation

$14.62 - $18.28; Full-Time, Non-Exempt (40 hours/week)

Requirements

Qualifications: Associate's degree or CDA preferred, or current enrollment in CDA or college program; childcare experience preferred. Must interact well with diverse groups and care for young children.

Certificates: Blood Borne Pathogen, CPR, First Aid (within 60 days), background checks, fingerprinting, T.B. test, physical exam documentation.
