Job summary

The Growing Years of Clayton, a licensed childcare center, is seeking an Assistant Teacher for our Infant classroom. A high school diploma or GED is required, and the ability to pass all background checks is essential. Previous childcare experience is a plus.

This is a Monday–Friday, 8:15am–5:15pm position with competitive pay and a strong benefits package. We value patience, kindness, and teamwork within our family-oriented organization.

Responsibilities

• Substitute for any position as needed, covering breaks and absences and taking classroom duties before or after shifts.
• Demonstrate patience and kindness with children, parents, and staff.
• Operate as a team player under the lead teacher and director.
• Maintain safety and physical ability to work around small children (sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs).
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs. as required by the role.

Compensation

$15-$18/hr based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities

• Willingness to effectively substitute for any position as needed. This includes covering staff members’ breaks, filling in for staff members in their absences, and assuming the classroom duties of staff members before or after their scheduled shifts.
• Demonstrate patience, kindness and positive interactions with all children, parents, and staff.
• Operate as a team player and willingness to help where needed under the director of the lead teacher.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
