Job summary

Child Development Schools, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our collaborative early childhood education team.

You will partner with the Lead Teacher to deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that foster curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth in young learners. You will help maintain a safe, nurturing classroom, observe children, communicate with families, and support documentation and daily reports.

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Genuine care for children and commitment to safety.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with families.
  • Physical ability to work with young children.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lead Teacher by delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom meeting licensing and ratio requirements.
  • Engage with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
  • Observe children and share developmental notes with Lead Teacher.
  • Build relationships with families through daily communication.
  • Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports.

Job description

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands‑on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What your day looks like:

  • Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
  • Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
  • Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
  • Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
  • Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Pay and benefits

Pay: $14.00 per hour, based on experience and education.

Requirements

A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education and prior experience in a licensed childcare center are a plus, but not required . We hire for character and train for skill.
