Job summary

Child Development Schools Texas is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the school-age classroom in Ft Worth, Texas. You will work with a Lead Teacher to deliver engaging activities that foster curiosity, confidence, and growth in children.

You will help create a safe, inclusive classroom, communicate with families, and complete daily attendance and notes. Hours are from 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with benefits included for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Background check ability required.
• Genuine care for children and safety focus.
• Strong communication with families required.
• Experience in licensed childcare is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher with age-appropriate lessons and activities for school-age classroom.

Your role

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the school age classroom
• This role will be hours 12P-6:30PM
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Pay and benefits

Pay: $13-$14 per hour, based on experience and education.
