Job summary

Chambliss Center for Children in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking individuals to work with children from infancy to 4 years old in a school-calendar classroom located inside Hamilton County Schools. The role offers a part-time schedule during the school year, with time off during school breaks and holidays.

Starting pay ranges by education: $11.00/hour with a high school diploma, $13.00/hour with a CDA, and more with additional education/experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint background check.
• Experience working with children in a classroom setting is helpful but not required.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in a safe, nurturing environment.
• Assist with classroom activities that support children's learning and development.
• Help maintain an organized and welcoming classroom.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
• Support the teaching team with daily classroom responsibilities.

• Chambliss Center atEast Brainerd Elementary, 7600 Goodwin Road, Chattanooga TN 37421
  • Monday - Friday, 10am - 1pm
• Chambliss Center at East Side Elementary,1603 S. Lyerly Street, Chattanooga TN 37404
  • Monday - Friday, 11am-1pm

Pay:

Starting pay is based on education and experience:

• $11.00/hour – High School Diploma, no childcare experience required
• $13.00/hour – Child Development Associate (CDA)
• More with additional education and/or experience
