Job summary

Chambliss Center for Children is seeking part-time staff to work with infants through pre-kindergarten in a school-calendar aligned program inside Hamilton County Schools.

Pay varies by education and experience, starting at $11.00/hour with increments to $13.00/hour for CDA or higher qualifications. Positions operate in two Chambliss Center sites in Chattanooga, with training provided and a focus on safe, nurturing learning environments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint background check.
• Experience working with children in a classroom setting is helpful but not required.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in a safe, nurturing environment
• Assist with classroom activities that support children’s learning and development
• Help maintain an organized and welcoming classroom
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
• Support the teaching team with daily classroom responsibilities

• Chambliss Center at East Brainerd Elementary, 7600 Goodwin Road, Chattanooga TN 37421
  Monday - Friday, 10am - 1pm
• Chambliss Center at East Side Elementary, 1603 S. Lyerly Street, Chattanooga TN 37404
  Monday - Friday, 11am-1pm

Pay:

Starting pay is based on education and experience:

• $11.00/hour - High School Diploma, no childcare experience required
• $13.00/hour - Child Development Associate (CDA)
• More with additional education and/or experience
