Job summary

City of Fishers seeks a part-time Childcare Aide for its Fishers Community Center. You will assist in the onsite childcare area, ensure a safe and joyful environment, and support daily operations with the Youth and Family Manager.

The role emphasizes supervision, activity facilitation, and positive guardian communication. Requirements include being at least 16, 1+ year childcare experience, and CPR/AED plus First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain within 60 days).

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• 1+ year of childcare experience.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Engage in age-appropriate programming for participants in a safe, fun, inviting environment.
• Supervise children and collaborate with the team to encourage safe, respectful behavior.
• Model positive behavior and use age-appropriate behavior management.
• Identify guardians before releasing children and maintain attendance records.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of toys, furniture and equipment following safety guidelines.
• Set up equipment for activities and return it after use.
• Be flexible to cover numbers of children as needed.
• Assist Youth and Family Manager in family events to build positive relationships with children and guardians.
• Respond to emergencies as first responder, administer basic first aid or CPR, follow protocols.
• Communicate with guardians about daily activities and any behavior concerns.
• Perform duties as assigned.
