Job summary

Fishers Community Center is seeking a caring Childcare Aide to join the onsite childcare team in the Action Zone. You’ll help ensure our youngest community members are cared for in a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include supervising children, leading age-appropriate activities, maintaining attendance records, and following safety procedures. CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtainable within 60 days. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• One or more years of experience in a childcare environment.
• Ability to lead group activities and observe children in busy settings.
• Ability to collaboratively solve problems with staff and the public.
• CPR/AED, First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Engage in age-appropriate programming for participants, ensuring a safe, fun environment.
• Actively supervise children and support team members to encourage safe, respectful behavior.
• Model positive behavior and use age-appropriate discipline techniques.
• Verify guardians and release children to approved adults; maintain attendance records.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment; report any concerns or repairs.
• Set up activity equipment and store it after use; be flexible with numbers of children.
• Assist Youth and Family Manager in family events to build relationships with children and guardians.
• Respond to emergencies; administer first aid or CPR as needed and follow safety protocols.
• Communicate with guardians about daily experiences and any behavioral issues.
