Job summary

Melrose/Wakefield Hospital in Malden, MA is seeking a per diem Childbirth Educator to educate individuals and families about pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care, strengthening community health ties.

You will develop educational programs with hospital staff, conduct outreach, plan health events, and create educational materials. Requires certification as a Childbirth Educator and at least two years of college coursework or an associate degree.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for educating people for the purpose of promoting, maintaining, and improving individual, family, and community health. Strengthens community ties, recruits volunteers, establishes a positive public image, conducts outreach, and promotes services and public involvement.

Location: Melrose/Wakefield Hospital - 293 Commercial Street - Malden, MA

Hours: Per Diem - 6 /10 hours per month

Minimum Qualifications

• 1. Two (2) years of College Coursework OR Associate’s Degree.
• 2. One (1) year of related experience.
• 3. Must be certified as a Childbirth Educator.

• 8. Maintains competence in knowledge about community, specific current health issues and health and social services.
• 9. Develops effective written health education materials.

Pay Range

$36.00 - $36.00 based on full-time equivalent
