Providence Swedish is seeking a childbirth educator to support expectant and new families at Swedish First Hill. You will guide families through education in a structured process, from assessment to planning, implementation and evaluation, helping them transition to newborn care responsibilities.

Description

This position functions to meet the educational needs of expectant and new families and their support networks. In meeting these needs, this role assists families in the process of transitioning from the role of expectant parents to the role of parents responsible for the care of their newborns. Education is delivered through a structured process that includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience in childbirth education

Preferred Qualifications

• Successful completion of a formal childbirth education training program
• Certification by a nationally recognized childbirth education organization upon hire
• At least 6 months of teaching experience

Compensation

Wage range: $41.81 - $64.91 per hour. These amounts represent the base pay range. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
