Job summary

State of Nevada is recruiting for a Social Worker 1 underfilling a Social Worker 3 position in the Carson City Child Welfare office. The role involves independent work to assess safety threats, provide family-centered case management, and ensure the safety, well-being, and permanency of children.

Qualifications

• Assess and reassess client levels of functioning by interviewing clients, family members and other contacts.
• Develop and implement case plans according to guidelines.
• Coordinate services with other agencies and providers.
• Provide crisis intervention and emergency response when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage ongoing safety threats throughout the life of the case.
• Deliver strength-based family-centered case management to promote safety and permanency.
• Ensure children’s medical, mental health, and educational needs are met.
• Develop and review case plans per policy and practice guidelines.
• Document assessments, court reports, social summaries, and related paperwork.
• Coordinate MDTs and liaison with legal and community resources.
• Provide crisis intervention and respond to emergencies.
• May train and supervise other staff; under supervision at trainee level.
