This position has a designated special non-negotiable entry salary.

Pay Grade: L

Supervises, guides, and instructs subordinate staff. Supervises a social services unit providing investigative and comprehensive case management for child abuse or neglect. Directs professional staff, sets goals, and manages workloads to meet agency objectives. Ensures timely actions for at-risk clients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise and plan work for assigned staff
• Serve as a resource in assigned areas
• Access and record client and community resource information
• Collect evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare reports according to laws and regulations
• Compile records and follow up on case status
• Conduct home evaluations for assessments
• Coordinate and monitor children in placements and in-home interventions
• Track client activities and services
• Develop case plans utilizing community resources
• Identify foster care placement resources
• Initiate legal processes for guardianship, protective services, or adoption
• Maintain documentation and complete reports
• Assess safety and respond accordingly
• Perform investigations of protective services referrals
• Collaborate with legal system to ensure safety and outcomes
• Review and approve staff casework

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of case management experience

OR

One (1) year of experience at the Child Welfare Svcs Case Mgr 3 level or equivalent

Behavioral Science degrees include social science, psychology, sociology, child development, family studies, criminal justice, education, public health, public administration, nursing.

Case Management experience includes assessments, home evaluations, staffing, working with individuals and families, child safety, law enforcement related to DFCS, etc.
