Job summary

Arizona Department of Child Safety seeks a Child Welfare Investigator in the Office of Child Welfare Investigations to conduct in-depth investigations of suspected abuse and neglect, testify in court, and coordinate with local agencies. The role includes home visits, interviews, and navigating state databases.

The candidate will travel within the state, require law enforcement or investigative experience, and support multiple complex cases with confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Interviews with children and family members using compassionate, child-centered approaches.
• Ability to document investigations clearly and thoroughly in required systems.
• Knowledge of state child welfare laws and investigative procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, responds to and investigates reports from the Child Abuse Hotline with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conducts interviews and collects documents; records interactions in required systems.
• Testifies in court regarding child welfare investigations.
• Assists on cases involving severe abuse or neglect and supports sensitive investigations.
• Attends high-profile staffing and other meetings as needed.
• Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment.
