Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervising caseworkers who support children, youth, and families in need of ongoing Child Abuse or General Protective Services while ensuring all legal, policy, and procedural standards are met.
• Supervise and participate in the planning and provision of in-home and placement services; coordinate and lead review team meetings.
• Ensure compliance with legal benchmarks and achieving timely permanency for children in placement, prepare caseworkers for court, and monitor compliance with court orders.
• Track all forms, deadlines, and related work for compiling statistical information.
• Provide ongoing instruction on agency policies, procedures, and best practices to new and existing workers; contribute to the unit's annual development plan.
• Represent the agency and the people we serve by participating in task forces and committees.

Education

Bachelor's degree in sociology/social welfare/psychology or related social sciences
