Job summary

Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Inc. seeks a dedicated support worker to assist Social Service Workers in delivering Child Welfare Services. The role includes transporting clients, assisting families with resources, and supporting case management activities.

The position requires collaboration with program supervisors, knowledge of community services, and a commitment to client-centered care. Regular hours may require travel and participation in site seminars.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity to the client population served.
• Ability to partner with clients individually and in family units to mobilize resources.

Responsibilities

• Rotate work schedule to meet program and client needs.
• Transport clients to appointments and visits.
• Attend seminars/workshops to maintain field knowledge.
• Input data for agency social service plans and program standards.
• Conduct home visits as assigned.
• Explain guidelines to parents.
• Assist parents in using community resources.
• Prepare children for medical examinations and follow-up care.
• Promote parental cooperation in the program.
• Handle noncomplex case-related duties and maintain case records.
• Implement action plans for cases following procedures.
• Learn agency policies and participate in casework areas like intake.
• Contact other social service agencies for referrals.
• Attend agency seminars to increase knowledge and skills.
• Provide progress reports to supervisors and perform recordkeeping.
• Verify information supplied by clients and respond to inquiries.
• Complete contact notes and filing in case records.
