Job summary

Jackson County CASA in Missouri is seeking a Case Specialist to work closely with Staff Attorneys and newly appointed child clients. You will conduct initial investigations, gather information, and help develop placement and service recommendations for court hearings.

You will maintain ongoing case support, communicate with families and multidisciplinary teams, and ensure timely services while upholding confidentiality and professional standards in a collaborative, child-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human services field.
• Three years of case management experience in child welfare or similar setting.
• Commitment to client-centered advocacy and confidentiality.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and thoroughly investigate cases to ensure child safety with minimal disruption.
• Meet the child early to explain CASA and process, assess decisions, and gather preferences.
• Engage with agencies, families, and others to collect information and coordinate services.
• Formulate placement and service recommendations for court hearings.
• Provide ongoing case support and document findings for Staff Attorneys.
• Maintain regular client contact and coordinate with the Family Support Team.
• Ensure timely communication with staff and transfer of case information.
• Update CASA's database with case activities and documents.
• Adhere to professional standards, ongoing DEI training, and annual reviews.
• Complete CASA Pre-Service Training within three months; perform other duties as requested.
