Pitt County Government is seeking an Attorney II to represent the Department in Child Protective Services actions and ensure legal needs of the program are met. Responsibilities include coordinating legal training for child welfare workers and providing guidance on releasing information to other agencies.

The role also offers support in Child Support and Adult Services matters and collaboration with other Attorneys IIs on appellate child welfare cases.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of case, statutory, regulatory, and common law.
• Knowledge of judicial and quasi-judicial procedures and rules of evidence.
• Ability to conduct civil or criminal litigation.
• Ability to interpret and apply constitutional provisions, statutes, regs, decisions.
• Ability to analyze facts, evidence, and legal instruments.
• Ability to express conclusions clearly in oral and written form.

Responsabilités

• Represent the Department in Child Protective Services actions.
• Coordinate legal training for child welfare workers and other staff as designated.
• Provide advice on release of legal information to other agencies and entities.
