Job description

Job Title: Child Watch Attendant - Kirkwood

Join us at Gateway Region YMCA as a Child Watch Attendant in Kirkwood.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide a safe and high-quality experience for participants.
  2. Lead youth in educational, recreational, or social activities aligned with program goals.
  3. Maintain positive relationships with staff, youth, volunteers, and program site administration, demonstrating strong public relations skills.
  4. Ensure YMCA policies and guidelines are consistently followed.
  5. Create safe conditions for children, avoiding hazardous or negligent activities.
  6. Supervise youth at all times, implementing assertive discipline procedures as needed.
  7. Handle customer service duties, including greeting parents, answering questions, and staying informed about program activities.
  8. Meet the individual needs of youth for proper program coordination.
  9. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool children.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • 403(b) Retirement Savings plan with a 12% contribution per pay period after 1,000 hours of service in any two 12-month periods.
