The City of Lenexa Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for Child Watch Attendants. The ideal candidate has experience working with children and enjoys creating a safe, engaging, and fun environment for young visitors. This position is primarily responsible for monitoring the Kid Zone child watch areas at the Recreation Center and providing short-term child watch services.
Under the supervision of the Recreation Center Customer Service Supervisor, the Child Watch Attendant ensures the safety, well-being, and enrichment of children while in the care of Kid Zone staff. This role includes supervising children, implementing age-appropriate activities, and enforcing child watch policies.
Starting rate of pay is $15.50 per hour.
This position requires physical activity, strength, and stamina to supervise and play with children. Attendants must be able to stand for long periods, lift and carry infants, and actively engage with children on the floor or in play areas. Work is performed in a busy Recreation Center environment and requires visual acuity to ensure child safety.
Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screen. A background check is required for applicants aged 18 and older.
