Job summary

PEOPLE'S HEALTH CENTERS in St. Louis, MO seeks a Child Therapist to provide therapeutic services to children and youth facing emotional, behavioral, or developmental challenges. The role includes assessments, treatment planning, and individual/family therapy within an interdisciplinary team.

The therapist will offer crisis intervention when needed, coordinate services, and ensure timely, evidence-based care. Master’s level clinicians are encouraged to apply; licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; licensure preferred.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience with children/youth.
• Licensed or provisionally licensed preferred (LPC/PLPC/LCSW/LMSW).
• Experience in community mental health strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of children’s mental health and development.
• Develop diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations.
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based models.
• Create and maintain individualized treatment plans per standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.
• Provide crisis intervention when needed (walk-in/phone crisis).
• Maintain compliant and timely documentation.
• Participate in case consultations, trainings, and quality initiatives.
• Serve as a resource for families and community partners.
