Job summary

Otter Tail County's Human Services Department is seeking a Child Support Lead Worker to supervise the Child Support team, provide training, and handle complex legal actions in coordination with the County Attorney's office.

The role involves reviewing staff work, managing a small caseload, developing procedures, and promoting equity and collaboration while supporting unit and agency goals in a busy public service environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of successful experience as a Child Support worker or the equivalent.
• Completion of two years of study at an accredited college or equivalent with emphasis in behavioral sciences, business or related subjects.
• Or combination providing equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and virtual training for new child support staff, onboarding, and ongoing staff development.
• Prepare and maintain written procedures for processing legal actions and enforcement activities.
• Establish, modify, and enforce child support orders; manage a small caseload and contact clients regularly.
• Represent the Child Support team when coordinating casework with other units, counties, and agencies.
• Support and carry out decisions, policies, and directives of supervisors, leadership, and directors.
• Promote cultural competency, inclusivity, and equity within the workplace.
